I'm a first time wood stove owner. Have had an Olympic for two months and like it very much for the most part (though they could have made the ash pan 1/2" shorter so you didn't have to lift it to get it in place without trashing your pedestal). My problem is that the automatic fan comes on when it reaches a certain temperature and said temperature blows warm air. However, when I wake up in the morning it is blowing cold air. Any idea why it is not shutting down at roughly the same temperature it is starting up? Quite irritating having the stove automatically cool the room down for me - the point in getting one was quite the opposite. : )

How high do you leave the fan on overnight? I turn mine down to low or close to it depending on when I expect to get up to tend it and how cold it is out. My stove top is always 200+ in the AM and the blower is still on blowing warm air. Trying to figure out how it would be blowing 'cold' air in the AM if the stove still has coals in it??
I bypassed the actuator on mine so I can turn it off or on as I like it. I keep my white line pointed straight down all the time which gives a good amount of air for the amount of noise made. I love this fan, it's super extra quiet compared to my old VC.
I don't think you have to worry about it blowing "cold air." It can't blow air any cooler than what is in the room already, so there isn't any harm in having the fan running other than the small amount of electricity being wasted.

I cant believe that in the morning it is blowing cold air. How many hours are you talking here? Even after 9 hours of burn, mine is still blowing warm air, or at least it feels warm to me so it must be above body temp?
