Was visiting an Ace Hardware store and asked about pellets out of curiosity. Woman mentioned Barefoot's had come in so I picked up 10 bags to try at a non-gouge price of $6 a bag. On one of the coldest mornings here we've had this winter plus a windchill advisory, the dining room next to the room the stove is 73 degrees, versus 67-68 with the Maine's Choice on mornings not as cold or windy as this. Ash is significantly less than most pellets I've burned this season. My house is drafty so the fact that it's toasty in here on a windy subzero night speaks well for this pellet. Have to keep my eyes open for this pellet next year.

Great pellet and a good price for an ace hardware!! They put out great heat, and has been my main pellet for last 5 years.

House has been toasty all day and the stove is oscillating on and off in temp mode, which it has not done with other brands of pellets when it's this cold outside. I like 'em.

Barefoots are top shelf without a doubt.

I have read great things about Barefoots but have yet to try them as I cannot seem to find them in RI
Wow, a 76er fan from out of state... Not many left in the state.

Have 2 ton of these for the coldest part of season. Gone through my first ton and will continue to burn through Feb. Great pellet for heat output and relatively low ash.

I am going to order at least a ton for next year, for sure. Loving the Hamer's Hot ones I have been burning lately though

I managed to get 4 tons of them up here in NH last year and had about a ton left this year.

They are fantastic! Just burned the last of them last week though :(

Really not impressed with them at all. More ashy then my lignetics and hamers. Glass was black quickest out of all pellets burned this yeah including green supremes. And heat is mediocre at best

friend of mine said his Harman went thru the Barefoots like they were candy...
Bag didn't last all that long..

Barefoot pellets are by far my favorite. They are great on the coldest days.

But I did notice that they are a slightly smaller diameter than most pellets, So more pellets are being fed into the burn pot. So they do make for a hotter fire, but it's mainly because more fuel is being fed into the pot.

That being said, even with me lowering the feed rate of my stove, they still manage to get the room a few degrees hotter than the Logik-E, and L&G's I've burned in the past.

Somethings wrong with them this year. As there actually causing my burn pot to overflow. And then I use a new bag of any other pellet and the stove is fine again. Ans yes from soup to nuts the stove is clean. Also found metal shards in some of the barefoots will post later.

how long did a bag last..?

i had great success with them this year.only got 1 ton to try but was impressed.very high heat(higher than douglas firs)low fines, very low dust around house, ash around .30(about average)going to get all 6 tons next year.did have to turn my feed from #4 to #3.25 but they lasted longer than anything i tried except hamers

With my feed rate on my Englander set on 1 and with the temp on it's lowest level, I would use about 30 pounds a day.

This year I am using barefoot and a softwood pellet that is a bit larger in diameter, so I turned the feed rate up to 2 to accommodate the larger softwood pellet. With the feed rate at 2 and the temp set on the lowest level, I go through 30 pounds of the softwood a day, and 1 bag of Barefoot gets me about 20 hours or so. So a little over one bag a day. But the house is a full 7 degrees warmer when the barefoot pellets are burning.

those numbers sound awful low..
what temperature is your house or room with the stove in it?
that low feed rate wouldn't cut it with my Harman...
would never get up to set temperature unless it was set at maybe 65 or lower..
let alone a crappy burn.....guess an Englander is different...

helps to put your Stove model in your "signature" so others can compare..

My favorite by far. I've burned many brands for comparison. Most heat, least ash, cleanest venting.
