While waiting for a car repair, I read about this splitter and thought that maybe, just maybe, no-one had seen this either. So here is the link.

Now I know that the wood is just as straight grained as in the fiskars and other commercials, but ya gotta admit, with a few tweaks, this could probably handle a lot larger chunks!
 
Make it horizontal and hydraulically powered and I think you'd have something...
 
I'll never understand why so many people keep their fingers on the ends of rounds while splitting. Not only hydraulic, but especially an impact version like this.

But yeah, looks like a great idea overall.


Not to worry...they have adopted a national health care program!!
