Best Pellet Stove ash vac??

Im looking to get yet another ash vac for my pellet stove...been through 3 with only 2 seasons on the pellet stove

which is the best that people have gotten or seen. Mostly the issue us dust blown out the exhaust. and second would be longevity. I always vac COLD ash but they dont last long. which I know makes a bit of sense as the ash kills them...like drywall dust kills shop vacs.

I picked up Loveless Cougar Ash Vacuum on Ebay for $50 plus 50 for shipping (cost him 60 to ship). Had to replace filter and small plastic part. About 60 bucks. It's great vac! I love it! Ha ha Everything is available on Loveless web site to repair. Even motor at great price. I have vac up ash few times. No blow thru. http://www.lovelessash.com/

I have the upgraded 4 gal Power Smith PAVC-102 Silver Tank
The PAVC-101 3 gal green tank was good but the 102 has a nice filter around the motor that is easy to replace. The Green tank motor has a hidden foam filter. To get at it you have to take out five screws in the top of the unit, The 102 also comes with a tube attachment to clean out the pellet stove ash traps.

I have a ShopVac ash vacuum. I haven't used it yet but I chose it because it was $100 and has a HEPA filter, so I am hoping it will do a good job catching dust.

There is no such thing as the “best” ash vacuum. You can pick any one of the dozen or so brands/models that will inevitably be mentioned in this thread.

Yes, there is no Best ash vac, but improvements have been made recently and they are good to know.

I use a shop vac with a drywall bag. Of course the ash must be cold in order to do this and not start a fire. I keep the regular filter in the vac in addition to the bag. I get zero ash through the exhaust- if anything makes it past the bag (it doesn't) the regular filter is there as a backup.

My love-less ash vac turns 20 years young this year! Only replaced the two filters once, and that was three years ago just because I felt like it. Lots of threads and opinions on this subject.
