I have used VC and CDW stoves most of my life. I read constantly in this forum that VC is problematic due to EPA related design issues? I'm in Maryland and secondhand market is flush w VC. I loved my CDW smallest version, 1990 model, but man that burn time was short!

Now have a 1890s house, 6" flue, 18" at bottom of 6" horizontal flue. For those of you who tear up VC, is there a better option that doesn't jut out into the room (mine is 12' deep w an interior chimney). I'm a second hand savings kind of gal so I'd probably have to travel.
