Went to lowes and home depot this weekend. Instead of being greeted to the usual stacks of pellets right out front, they are now no where to be found. I saw one pallet out in the garden center and that was it.

if you're planning to get more from these types of stores before the end of the year, fair warning!

A little early this year, We usually don't see this until Mid Febuary. Its gonna snow today, Hopefully they still have snow shovels? :p

No biggie, My friendly pellet house's have plenty to go around! ==c

The entire display area has been replaced. There were stoves, snow blowers, pellets, ice melt, etc all right in front.

Now, there's garden planters, pots, bird seed, and hoses in its place. Spring re-set has taken place.

They are betting on global warming. Was warm last year so they stock like last year. We have had only a handfull of above average temps this month. Just cleaned stove this morning to get ready for another 4 days plus of below average. It really sucking the pellet stocks.

One HD here shows 13 ton in stock and the other one shows 212 tons. $217 a ton.

HD near me has at least 40 tons on hand. NEWP and Stove Chow. Lowes has about 15 tons of GT and GS

I am gonna keep an eye on the inventory number at the HD with the 212 tons. If it goes down really slow, where it is located it should, I may play lets make a deal with the store manager in a month or so.

Good luck. I tried that last year. His response? "I'll just put the remaining tons up on the highest racks until next fall".

The funny thing is all of those tons are at one of the stores that never stocks stoves of any kind. I think purchasing blew it on automatic allocations for them. And where they built the store they didn't have room for as much outside storage as the other stores.

We shall see.

Question.I thought that Lowes does price matching?I stopped in one this morning to check out what they had for pellet brands. Lots of North American pellets, are they any good?Didn't buy any as I didn't think they were.Anyway, they had 2 single bags of Green Team Platinums.I asked an employee If they were same price?Yes,all the same he says.I go to check out,5.20 a bag, what? The sign say's 4.38 per bag,"contracter's"special,209 per ton. I ask cashier if they price match HD,she calls customer service, they say "no,not on fuels" So,I guess I won't be going back to Lowes for pellets, unless they have Sommersets.
Oh,and they have (2) 25pdvc's,the "Summers Heat" version.Still at full price,1099.

How are you guys checking inventory? homedepot.com???

Yeah. Stores that stock the stuff have an inventory check icon on the item page. I have found it pretty darn accurate.

Stopped at the depot yesterday to grab some warm weather pellets and found none at all. Spring stuff coming out there too. I'll check blowe's tonight.

No discounts on stoves at the local store.

As per BB's mention of the HD website, I did a web check in my area.

In a radius of 17 miles, there are 6 HD's....they have a total of 288 tons on hand.

Lowes doesn't list them like that.

I was at Lowe's a few days ago and they already had all the yard care stuff out... sprinklers, hoses, fertilizer, etc. The electric heaters, wood stoves and all that stuff was in the clearance aisle.

Just a "little" early consider we still have about 3 months of winter!

Walmart wasn't much better either. I was looking for insulated coveralls, they had about 4-5 pairs left "for the year"... All super tiny or super huge of course.

With the snow that's falling outside right now, I didn't need a reminder!!!:p

went to my home desperate web site and checked the store near me they said they had 0 in stock I ended up going there for another item and just wanted to look for my self and they had 4 tons on the floor and the guy said they had more in the back. all Stove Chow but i did not go to my post office for my Lowes coupon that i always use at home depot. So Ill go pick some more up on the weekend

.....but i did not go to my post office for my Lowes coupon that i always use at home depot. .......
I thought I heard the Lowes moving coupon isn't in the post office packs anymore.....? You have to get it on Lowes website.

Not On long Island i picked up a pack today

OK, good to know....I'll have to check it out. Need it for the spring "sales", if there are any.

If they get rid of that coupon that would stink because I use them all the time. I would have to stock up lol

HD near me is all out but getting another shipment in this week, gonna stock up on the stove chow and grab 2 ton
