Brought home about 5 cords of B L last winter all was dead either standing or laying, all it needed was c/s/s and a little time. Now that it has finally cooled off I will get back after some more.
Wow.. 12%. I don't think anything here can get that low. It's been said that splits in our area equalize at about 16-18% and won't get any dryer no matter how long they sit out there. Would like to hear about how it performs in the stove.
Some of my BL was also picked up off the ground. The sapwood was rotted off but the heartwood was in great shape. Very rot-resistant wood.I don't think the B L gets punky or rots.
Should go a little lower than that...Wow.. 12%. I don't think anything here can get that low. It's been said that splits in our area equalize at about 16-18% and won't get any dryer no matter how long they sit out there.
