So you don't have examples of this "problem"???
How about examples of their spotty engineering?

I don't let the bk guys get away with nonstop brand plugging and I won't let baseless brand bashing stand either. Back up your claims or let it go.
Let him ramble or just click the ignore...like I did years ago. Others taught me how to do that. But, thanks.

The failure of BK bypass gasket retainers is NOT always due to stove misuse or abuse. Mine failed and I’m a stove nerd carefully burning low btu wood in a moderate climate on low settings. The retainers don’t fail for everyone, very few, but they certainly do fail and it’s not an easy fix. Also no smoking gun cause for all cases.

Now, there are also ways to melt your bypass gasket retainers by stove misuse and abuse but that’s a different story.

I'm sorry, but the remark about the house being the thermostatic control is just plain wrong. Not an opinion, but plain incorrect.

The temperature in your home is the result of heat input, (and heat capacity, i.e. how much energy is needed to change its temperature), and heat loss. If your house does not loose heat (easily), then the temperature is almost solely determined by the heat input.

Lol, that's different than seeing 150 F in the car (on an analog thermometer laying out in the open, but in the shade in my car in TN....). Takes a while too to get down to a manageable 110 F

High beam and myself are similar- we both had hearthstones. We both switched to BK's and couldn't be happier. Both with the product and the customer service.

7-8 years with the hearthstone, 7 with my ashford i think. I got one of the first ones. Overall, I burn less wood annually, and unlike bhollar my heat pump comes on less on average. I think Its due to the more consistent heat output cycle. Every house is different. I have super strong draft. Most of that hearthstone heat went up the pipe- I only Had to clean my pipe every other year (and not much came out even then). Yes BK's are not attractive as a whole. I think That's a major flaw that is likely costing them business. But I know they are doing well, so oh well.

Am I a "Fanboy" I dont Think so. I like The product and the way I was treated by the company when I had some issues. Why wouldn't you want to reward them in the form of positive reviews? Are they "the best"? No- there is no yes to that question.

For what it's worth, we rented a house in Maine that had a regency. Nice stove, I liked It a lot.

Good reviews are always welcome. And the op in this case asked about bk vs another so all of the bk recommendations are absolutely very valid.

And Hearthstone has some real efficiency improvements too!

Very interesting stuff spurred on by the 2020 regs I think.

Obviously I’m happy with my BK experience but Hearthstone treated me very well too. Their 2006 era product just needed some performance and durability improvements.
