just moved into house with wood fireplace. It has a blower fan positioned under fire place, and blows air up behind insret and forces warm air out of louvered grill above insert. Old fan was very noisy, and did not appear to be too effective .

Purchased a new blower fan from Fireplace blower outlet..upon installation, the 150 cfm blower does not seem to be powerful enough to drive air out of top vent.

I will be returning it, but want to know of folks with similar set up, and what kind of fan they use, and their satisfaction with it's output. Again, air is blown up and behind, and forced out above. Fan clearance space is limited to about 7 inches height

I would appreciate any questions comments or advice.

We need to see pictures or have model numbers to help you at all. Have you had the unit inspected by a pro to make sure it is safe to use?
