Blower recommendations

Hey,

Second ever post here, so bear with me. My knowledge of wood stoves is pretty poor, so thats why I’m here. My first thread was about identifying this Foxe Fire stove I have (which no one or the internet had any info on), and about refinishing it. It did not come with a blower, but it has a 3” elbow on the side for one. Any recommendations of a solid blower I could attach to the blower fitting? Is this even possible?

Also, curious if there were any resources on how to properly install the stove, as well as the SS exhaust pipe up the chimney, and finally capping it off. Any information on brands, or manufacturers for the tube and cap would be greatly appreciated.

It may be possible to connect a stock Grainger or McMaster blower to it. Can you show some detailed images of the blower connection?

There are a jillion threads here on how to properly install and connect a stainless liner to an insert. Rockford Chimney also has some installation videos.

You can see from the top view, it has a much steeper angle to the insert for the blower to fit.

Sorry if this is a naive question, I have never seen this stove. Are you positively certain that this pipe is for convection air and not combustion air? Where does the hot convected air come out?

Edit! I found the blower. Which I believe is a blower. It looks like the hot convected air comes out through the expanded metal on the sides? However, I plugged the blower in and it doesn’t work.

Thanks, that helps to see the whole picture. So the blower connected via a metal hose to the round pipe on the side of the insert?

Looks like it is time to take apart the blower and figure out what's broken. Start with the blower thermostat.

I can hear electricity going to the blower when it’s plugged in, but it still won’t blow. Took it all apart and reconnected the wires to the terminals. I think it’s shot. Would it be more beneficial to buy a new one, so I don’t have to tinker/worry about a future problem with this one?

Ok need some more help!

Is this a baffle on the top inside of my insert? I don’t think it can be because it doesn’t cover the exhaust out. I’m going to get a 8” boot for the liner to attach to on top, will that suffice? These knobs are damper controls yes? (big bolts essentially to let air in). Now, if I put a liner to this insert, I won’t have a flue damper because that would just not jive right? Any solutions to my setup?

Sorry for all the questions, this thing is a family heirloom that I would love to bring back to life. I would just like to have peace of mind that I’m doing everything as safely and correctly as possible. Please help!
