Getting my stove pipes apart and back together is such an immense PITA that I haven't even bothered touching either since swapping stoves out in 2015. Each year, I send a Soot Eater up the pipe and back down, call it "done", and get back to burning. But I've put at least 80 cords thru this pair of stoves since then, had a few overfiring mishaps in-between, and figure I'm way overdue for a look inside.

But just dreading this task of getting the piping apart and back together, I'm thinking maybe a bore scope would be a better option at having a look inside, especially if I could make that a yearly thing.

I know I've asked about it before, and never pursued it, but I think it's time to make this happen. I have 30 feet of pipe on the taller of my two chimneys, so what are the options?

Check you local Home Depot or Lowes to see if the loan out one. That would provide an opportunity to try one out before buying.
