I posted. Back in 2022 about my warped baffle plates. My first question is the warped baffle plates a problem when burning? Does anyone with a Brass Flame KS805 stove have warped baffle plates and have any problems? If yes did anyone replace them? Where did you get them or how did you replace them?

Also using Duraflame logs.
FIRST I KNOW YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO USE DURAFLAME LOGS IN THE STOVE. How I was using the logs was to cut a six pound log into thirds. Then put a 2 pound piece and a piece of a pressed log (Siskq). They seemed to burn good but after about 21 cut pieces of the Duraflame logs the spark arrester screens clogs up. I think the Duraflame is the problem. So I have to go up a clean the spark arrester. The flue is very clear not much build up. So not going to us the Duraflame logs any more.

Here’s a picture of my warped baffle plates. You can see how their sagging in the middle where there overlap. It’s mainly the baffle plate without the overlap piece.

I don’t know if that would be a problem as far as safety. I could imagine if baffleswas warped enough to allow flames to hit liner, buildup of soot could catch fire. However, regular chimney sweeping should negate that.
How does stove run when using it?

The stove seems to work fine. I was concerned about the warped baffle, mainly it’s the one without the lip on it.

My other concern was the build up with the clogging the spark arrester screen which I think is probably being caused by the Duraflame log (1/3 of a log at a time). So I will have to use a different fuel. Which also I started maybe thinking that the wool product I used instead of the metal baffle plates might not provide enough heat to help burn the fuel adding to the spark arrester screen buildup?

Thales for your feedback

Spark arrestor is getting clogged with buildup is a fairly common issue that gets talked about on this form. The spark arrestor itself can probably be removed if you can do so safely, or have somebody else remove it for you. Are you burning dry firewood or are you just using artificial logs?

The wool keeps the fire box hotter than a metal baffle plate alone, and that leads to more complete combustion and thus to less deposits.
That is the purpose of a baffle and insulation on top of it.

Just going back to the wool baffles. I tried to get the warped baffles back in but to difficult at age 76. So I ordered the Wool baffles material. I hopping by not using the Duraflame logs the spark arrestor won’t get clogged up so fast.

Also I was using 1/3 of a Duraflame log with a piece of pressure wood product.
