can you burn wood in a coal stove?



Answer:

Yes, in most cases wood can be burned in older coal stoves. New coal stoves have a sticker on them from the EPA stating that wood can only be used for ignition purposes. This is because these stoves are exempt from EPA regulations.

Because the fireboxes of coal stoves are relatively small, you might find that the wood does not burn for a long period of time.
