Can a Drolet Eco-65 be safely operated without outside air?

Hi fellow Hearthers, I'm a new owner a Eco-65 unit and I need to know if anyone is using their Eco-65 stove without it being hooked up to outside air. My unit is in the basement and there is no easy way to do it without making a hole through a brick wall then up the chimney.

Are you looking at using your chimney as a vent??????

I'm not connected directly to my Eco-65, but I have a vent coming in the furnace room
as I'm still on oil for backup, In other words this vent is shared...

Post some pics of the install. You could contact SBI through the drolet website and see what they suggest. The eco-65 uses a large volume of combustion air, and what will happen it will draw cold air in from all the cracks in the house and walls without combustion air, might make the house feel colder.

What did sbi suggest?

It will create negative pressure in your house. I dont believe it will be unsafe but I am not an expert..... But would reccomend getting some way for it to draw fresh air. What did SBI say??
