I'm talkiing about 6" single wall stove pipe... I'm wondering if I can cut the upper section of a single wall adjustable pipe? I need a 30"~32" length, and the shortest sections I see for sale are 44"-68"... so, can I cut the upper section that goes into the lower section without compromising the seal of the two? I think I recall reading that the inner section 'belled out' a bit at the end to make a tight seal. Should I cut the outer section instead?

many thanks in advance...

Yes you can cut the outer section. I did on mine and I’ve had no issues.
