Does anyone know if you can substiture a T single wall pipe for an elbow single wall where it connects to the double wall pipe that goes into the thimble in the wall? The idea is to have an opening that you could take the cap off of to put in your chimney brush to clean the horrizontal piping. Would it affect the smoke flow negetively or cause any other problems? Thanks

I did the same thing for the same reason. After several break-in/burn-the-stinky-oils-off-while-it's-still-warm-enough-to-open-all-the-windows fires, it's worked fine.

I use it on every install that I do, supposing that I can talk the customer into it. Very helpful when cleaning.
