Looks like a big ole pine that rotted down the middle and fell over in the wind. Cut one about that size off the back corner of the barn a few years ago before I had the logger take the rest of the ones within striking distance of a building down.

Looks like a UFO crashed into a tree. I think I saw this picture on a t-shirt at the gift shop in Roswell.
Okay, here are two more pictures from different angles. I stopped for gas somewhere in MA or CT, I think MA. This was next door so I just had to take a picture. I thought it was a great idea.

I was thinking the exact same thing . . . and then I continued to read this thread and saw that we were right. To me something about this just didn't look quite right . . . I think maybe it was the underside of the mushroom . . . or how it was too neatly landscaped.
That said . . . I think the best line was about the drunken aliens. . . .
