I had read that Loons were in the lead for awhile but wasn't a fan as they are "snowbirds" and clear out once it gets cold. We have Gray Jays in Northern NH up in the mountains. They like to great winter hikers and are usually up for a photo op. Many new winter hikers end up with a photo of gray jay eating out of their hand or on top of their hat. The local loggers called them goober birds and tales were told that they were the ghosts of dead loggers who liked hanging around their past haunts.
