Hello like the title says my quad 3100 millenium doesnt burn for more than 2 hrs at most. If i try filling the box up to near full the fire just takes off even with both dampers closed with stove tops reaching 700-800. I only have 10.5 ft of flu from top of stove, I was thinking i might need a taller flu but wouldnt that just increase airflow and not help so much controlling it? I know the numbers companies advertise arent always legit but 2hrs seems pretty low compared to the advertised 10-12. I burn fir wood averaging 12-17% moisture content. Any idea's? Thanks!

Do you have a stove pipe thermometer? Maybe you need to turn down the air sooner? Try raking all the coals forward before reloading then pack it tight with larger splits on the bottom. This should give you a somewhat front to back cigar type burn.
I do have a pipe thermometer, it typically sits around 400ish when I have a small fire going. Its when I try loading it for a "overnight" burn that it takes off and flu temps get way up there into the 700-800 range. I will try raking the coals to the front like you said and see how that works. It seems a pretty common thing with quadrafire that they burn very hot, knowing what I know now i would purchase a blaze king if I could do it over again. Thank you for the input!
