Question:
Do you have information on the care of a Franklin Stove. I have recently moved one from Virginia to Florida and I am having a problem with rust.
Answer:
There is some information at the Q and A section (search on paint, etc)...but the basics are:
1. You can use steel wool or a wire brush to clean it up.
2. Use 1200 degree stove paint (buy it at a stove or fireplace shop) to paint it. Spray cans are best
This will take care of the problem. Some people use a rub on polish, but this does not hold up to heat as well as the paint.
