castile question

I have a free standing castile pellet stove.When I switch it to on it feeds pellets and fan starts.When the secondary fan starts the auger feeds pellets inconsistantly or not at all.Tapping on the hopper seems to start pellets dropping or shutting off and restarting the stove but it will not feed pellets ptoperly while the secondary fan is running and therefore wont continue to heat.

Are the pellets feeding into the auger? If not, you may need to open the opening for the auger. There is a slide mechanism located inside the hopper for this.

I had the auger out of the unit a year or so ago it was jammed. After re installing it the unit fed pellets and the door seemed to be to be open enough it feeds fine on start up when the convection fan starts it stops feeding pelletd

Check to make sure your thermocouple is pushed all the way inside the thermocouple cover. See attached chart for what is suppose to happen.Compliments of Dexterday.

What is the Secondary fan you speak of? Is it when the room air blower kicks on?

The convection blower (Room air) has nothing to do with pellet feeding. Nothing at all.

The combustion blower is what provides vacuum, and keeps the auger turning.

Have you checked the collar on the auger to ensure its tight? Have you looked up the drop chute with a mirror and checked for a bridge of pellets (Blockage)??

Also, is the Feed gate set properly, according to the Manual??

Turns out it's a combination of two things the sve needed extensive cleaning as recommended more than once.The pan had several clogged holes in the bottom near the fire box door

Turns out it's a combination of two things the sve needed extensive cleaning as recommended more than once.The pan had several clogged holes in the bottom near the fire box door

The mirror suggested enabled me to see this andwith a piece of bent wire I cleaned them out.All I can figure is the blockages caused the unit to stop feeding pellets when the convection fan activated but
