I just received an auger motor for my castle Serenity. It came with a capacitor with leads, separate from the motor leads and molex connector. I don’t see any stand alone capacitor in the stove unit so I’m guessing the control board may serve this function. Anyone change out one previously? Thanks. Jim

Is the new motor aftermarket? I haven’t run across a pellet stove that uses a permanent magnet/cap yet. Check your amperage draw, most control boards won’t take more than 5.5 amp draw without blowing fuse, or causing damage. The original motor may have the cap in its wiring plug.

May look similar

It was advertised as aftermarket but it’s identical to the original in the stove; mfg., model no., etc. Same connector and leads. I’ll just replace it and see if it resolves the issue.

I’m not quite following your terminology. Do you think my original motor has the capacitor located remotely or the motor doesn’t use a capacitor? Thnx

I had looked that part number before and have this snip showing a capacitor in series with one of the windings. It might be located where the plug goes to.

no I had forgotten about Quads And their clones. They use caps, only on the auger motor. You should be able to just plug n go. Yes they do go in series
