My catalyst probe is reading below the inactive range at room temp.. is that normal or do I need to adjust it? [Hearth.com] Catalyst Probe at Room Temp

It’s not made to read room temperature. Considering your stove will run 6 or 700 degrees, 70 is, well, very inactive as far as the cat is concerned.

Mine sits below active too, but only about half as far as yours is. I agree it's no issue. I don't think that gauge is very accurate anyway. On my Castleton, the probe tip isn't even in the flue gasses if the damper is open, so it will read inactive when the catalyst is clearly already working.
