Chimney / clearance question

Looking for input on chimney clearance in a small cabin. Top of flue is in a double wall pipe. Looking at where it exits the roof, after entering ceiling, the double wall appears to butt up against a wood panel just before exiting the roof. Am I correct there should be 2” space between the double wall and that wood (or anything else combustible)?

We used it all last winter fine, I hadn’t seen this until recently. Couple photos attached. Thanks for input.

Could you reach in there and cut a arc in the wood to give you the proper clearance? Sawsall or multitool?

Yes, you are correct. At least, mostly. 2" generally, but some have less clearance requirements. The class A should have a sticker listing what is needed.

The chimney pipe is too close to the wood. 2" is the most common clearance requirement for Class A chimney pipe. This definitely should be fixed.
