Hi, im new to this forum.
I just purchased a drolet heatmax furnace to replace the scary homemade wood furnace in the basement of the home we just purchased. The house is a one story rambler with a full basement. The existing chimney is an 8 inch exterior masonry chimey with a thick metal liner. The chimney is approx 20 ft tall. My plan is to line the existing chimney with a 6 inch insulated stainless steel flex liner. I know that interior chimneys perform better, but I really dont want to install a new chimney. According to the previous owner, he had no draft issues with the existing uninsulated chimney. Do you folks think my planned set up will work safely and perform adequately?
Any info or comments would be appreciated.
