Recently had sweep done and was told we had visible crack in clay tile 6 feet up along with mortar missing in smoke chamber. Chimney Sweep recommended level 2 inspection and new liner but he was not equipped to do work.

After much research I Called another chimney specialist who uses Thermocrete. He said he didn't need to do a level two inspection why pay the money from the ground he can see pretty far up and recommended thermocrete. If there are tiles that are missing further up that he cannot see what is the risk that we run if we use thermocrite?

I have two other chimney specialist coming one that uses fire guard the other uses heat shield and I'd like to find one more that uses Furanflex liner.

Which of these processes are considered to be the best maintaining as much of the existing diameters possible and without having to break out the clay tiles? I'm afraid to compromise the integrity of my 1932 tutor Stone chimney .

Thank you

None of those things are liners, they are repair systems and will not be a long term fix at all
