Chimney penetration boot for standing seam metal roof

My contractor is preparing to install a chimney for our new wood stove. We are putting on a standing seam metal roof. The chimney is a DuraVent double-walled.

He said the only option he's seen for flashing the penetration is a red silicone boot like http://www.amazon.com/Dektite-Silic...071C0E6A/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_sims?ie=UTF8 this Dekite one.

I find it very strange that the only boots available are bright red. Am I misunderstanding something? Is this boot covered with a metal piece so you can't see the color? Or do people not use the high-temperature versions usually? I don't recall ever seeing a red boot while driving so I'm thinking I must be misunderstanding. Anyone have experience to share putting a chimney through a standing seam metal roof? Thanks.

Not sure how long that silicone boot will stand up. The preferred flashing is Excel for metal roofs. Here's shot of one installation. You notch the base to match the roof. Note that the storm collar is not yet on in the installation.

I would not recommend a silicone boot unless the roof is less than 4/12 pitch. The boots do not hold up well, and they don't offer any support for the chimney.
