We have expensive wood stove gloves that became so dirty after a year's use that all our clothing would turn black from the ash when using them.
I just washed one glove to compare them. I used Dove soap with a scrubbing brush using hot water and what a difference. I let it air dry. Now on to the 2nd one.

Why clean them, the dirty gloves are like a right of passage

I used to wash mine. The came out looking like OJ's glove. Wonder why that glove would't fit.
