I have a jotul 600 firelight i just bought used. In the manual it says 10'' to combustibles with rear heat shield. I dont have the heat sheild . My hearth has a back wall of durock that is spaced 1 and 1/2 '' from the wall and is coverd in fake stone. Could I get away with the 10" clearnce without the heatshild?
Thanks

I believe you need to have 18" from the wall even though it has a stone veneer.
