Clicking sounds

Hello,

I have an open fire place, I've never lite a fire in it, just add candles and make it look nice.

I have actually blocked the flue with a draft excluder

For the last six months I have noticed a clicking sound from the chimney area. Every so often even in dry weather. What could it be.

Possibly a bird. Possibly the bird is a harbinger to something more sinister. Do you know the history of the house? Just sayin. It is 2020.

The house was built 30 years ago. I don't think the fireplace has ever been used in that time.
