HI, To all you fellow pelletmaster followers. I just want to say I love my stove, heats my whole house most of my friends and buds are jealous of how well these older bottom feeders due. I am very interested in switching one of my stoves over to rice coal. I can get it locally here in Pa and its still reasonable. I understand per my manual that their is a coal kit (obviously obsolete). I also see that in previous posts it is refered to as a higher burn pot with more air holes. Secondly it needs to run on low or keep fire only as it burns much slower. The air square above the burn pot is only roughly an inch above the top of clinker ring. How much higher could the burn pot be ? Has to have room for ash to fall out. Does anyone out there have a pic or a actual coal kit that i could get a photo of. I will have someone fabricate one or due one myself. Does the ring come off for coal-if burn pot was much higher clinker gear would not engage. I would be appreciative of any info about this?
As a after though I just noticed that the burn pot in my 3000, ( 8/95)is slotted all the way through and filled with cement while my 2000 only has in inner side of ring cut that way not filled with cement. Is it possible that the older 2000 (1990 production) came through with a pot that would burn coal or it was updated already?
