Question:

I have a 1989 Woodburning Heatilator..Model CHB36A1. Can this be converted to use vented Gas Logs? The label does say "Fuel wood only. No Fireplace Insert or Products not specified for use." I get some very big hot fires going in there.. I can't believe that gas is going to generate more heat...Am I wrong?

Answer:

You are correct in the assumption that it can be converted to gas. The label is referring to the fact that it should not be used to burn trash and other combustibles.
