Hello everyone, I'm brand new here today. Have been on and off for the the past 3 seasons. I have to nps40 stoves running. For the most part have been happy with them. I got them both for a total of 380.00
Had replace one relay and figure some rigged wiring and one new auger motor. It would be nice to have some modern features. Has anyone successfully done the conversation? If so ? What is needed. I did the usual online search with not much information, including here. Thank you.

Would be pretty extensive thing to do. The NPS40 IIRC is an analog dial which uses block timers and the NPS45 is a control board operated model. Each have their own merits, I like the simpler operation of the control board, but the dial version was a good unit too. Both are reasonably good heaters. One advantage of having two of the same unit is if you ever have an issue, can swap to the other stove and verify what is wrong. The cost to upgrade to the NPS45 would be very expensive too I'd think, with extra wiring harness requirements etc. It could be done, but effort to keep those you have clean and burn good quality pellets will probably be the best solution. Stay warm.

Thank you so much for the reply. I was starting to think I may not get a response. Everything you said is accurate. I have done just that in the past. I would like to wire in a thermostat. I priced it out. Its about 450.00 in parts. I like the features I would get with digital board. I was also strongly considering getting a Austroflamm integra 2.

I'm not as familiar with Austroflamm stoves, I know they were a good quality stove. Don't know if replacement parts are still available or not. There are a couple folks here with those units, hopefully they will follow up with you. I always ran my pellet stoves on manual, once I found out the heat needed, I tried to keep it eeking out constant and would adjust burn rate with temp changes as needed. The EF3 I had (much like the NPS40 controls) was still my favorite stove, just a workhorse unit, very forgiving in every aspect. The Empress insert was a bit more finicky, but once adjusted properly, it worked well too and was very quiet, which is what I really liked about Enviros anyway. Good luck with your ventures.
