Maine, ayuh, by gorry
Been outta town a couple days, when I got in today had a PM from Corinth, 'cuz in my last post I mentioned I had a lot of dust in a bag of their pellets. Gotta say, I'm impressed w/ their attitude, musta been watching posts here, 'cuz I didn't complain directly to them, and didn't really even complain here.

I burned 3 tons of Corinth last year and I hated them. It was the first time I had to use a screwdriver and hammer to remove clinkers. I had way more ash then other brands.

Maineiac - We had some issues with the raw material we received last season. During the spring we took a lot of time to test all loads and suppliers to see where the issues were. We have since eliminated some sources or asked that they change their criteria. Could I suggest trying a few bags of the product from this season?

I stayed away from them this year based on last year's reviews and bought 6 tons of Maine Choice (I want to support Maine) for this season. But due to you taking the time to be here and read and respond to us, I will buy a few bags and give them a try.

We appreciate the second chance. I'd like to hear your feedback on them when you get a chance, if you don't mind.

Was thinking about getting some, a local agway has them at a good price point I think, but they won't break a pallet to try a few bags, and they don't offer delivery themselves, but have a guy that does firewood on thier site and he said he would deliver it for $100 haaaa no way....

The local Lowe's has some on hand here in Danbury, I am all set for this season but may just pickup a few bags to give them a try since the company actually cares about us consumers! I am a big proponent of trying pellets and seeing the cost to performance ratio and you never no what you are going to get.... both brands I am burning this year surprised me in a big way. Granted my stove will burn just about anything I throw in it, but I like lots of heat with low ash at a good price. Good for Corinth to be active here!

I've been using Corinth this season and so far so good, not a lot of fines, hot clean burn, I would recommend them

It's a great idea to get involved on this board... lots of good folks here... many potential customers. Thanks for chiming in...

If you want to PM me I can find somewhere that can get you a few bags to try.

Back to shut down mode the last few days since the Sunday heatwave. 84 degrees in the back yard Sunday morning, and yes , I did take a thermometer out there to check it out, post a pic if I can figure it out again. Anyway, shut down early that morning for a good cleaning, burned 8 bags of the Corinth during the previous week, wanted to check out aftereffects.

First impression, "What a load of ash. Coarse, gritty, black ash." Last year's mix of Energex and Pennington (50-50, 2 ton each) was much lighter, grayer, fluffier.
Gotta figure, during the time I burned Corinth, unit only actually called for heat abotu 3 times, for a half hour or so at a time. Rest of the time, it was running on the lowest rate it will run.

Second impression, "Sure was warm in here for a week". Revolution seems to be runnin' like a politically incorrect comment.

Gotta get another ton in the next week or so, still don't know what. Broken toes are about healed, see what dealers around have available, not ruling out Corinth, but don't know, if I could find Okies cheap I might try a couple bags.

Geez, macman, I'm blushin' here, now, tryin' to answer yer question, since we seem to have some ladies on board, these days. Plus which, me bein' a married man, and all, I don't know if there's any still around, or not. Why, were ya thinkin' about comin' up fer a visit?
