I have a Regency insert that I discovered is cracked. I don't know how long its been like that but I got up in the morning a few days ago and my wife left a note on the counter that something was hanging down from the top of the stove. The thing hanging down was the piece of 1.25 inch by 1.25 angle iron that is (was) tack welded to the top just inside the door.

We shut it down to cool off to inspect it. I found a crack on the part the angle iron should be attached to so I cleaned the stove and removed all stones to inspect for any more cracks. I cant find any others but the one I do have looks like a doozy. Ill post pictures if I can figure out how.

Is a crack in this location crucial? Can it be used as is or can it be fixed or even warrantied?

My wife loves this stove more than me I think.

PS. I (we) are the original purchaser back in 2007

I don't know the insert, but it seems the crack is still inside the seal of the door and may have stopped at a hole of the air wash?

If it doesn't leak in air, I think you can keep using it for now.
