All this talk about food is making me hungry! Reminds me of what we called "second class cooking" in Boy Scouts. That is, anything cooked directly in the coals of a fire. Hamburgers with sliced potato, wrapped in foil, eggs cooked in orange peel or half a hollowed out onion. Maybe someone should start a new thread?Throw some sliced onions and peppers around some precooked brats or sausages sealed in a foil. Don't need all that much cook time.
Basically steaming the veggies and infusing the brat with the flavors. A little olive oil to help keep from sticking.
