That's the key right there. A lot of people don't like MWP, I do. The Cubex to me weren't any better and not worth the money.
Give them a phone call to get more info. its a family owned buisness. 2 locations. the one in Keene(thats the one i go to). 603-352-6506 and I guess there is one in Orange MA. Real nice people to deal with.
They have a good choice of pellets to. Cubex, Barefoot, Okie's, New England , and a couple of others.
Most places sell Cubex for a lot more than that. If you can buy them for that price, most people will tell you to buy all that are available.

Haven't had a chance. Next cold spell I plan on doing it. I just burned a half a ton of GT's so I need to reacqaint myself to normal ash levels first.
I've heard the GT's have very low ash. Lowes wanted 270 a ton I opted for the GS @ 209, no complaints good heat ash isn't to bad.
Funny you say that, the people at Lowes were bragging about how low the ash levels were. Sales pitch I guess. Never trust a salesman.
Put it this way, in Dec. 2011 the price of GT's was $209 at Lowes. Then they introduced the GT Platinum's and the price went up to $274. The only thing that changed was the bag. The pellets were the same. GT's, GT Platinum and Green Gold are all the same pellet. Some Lowe's in the CT-NY area still sell them for $209ish. Most are $260+. A lot of people on this forum are boycotting them. But they are high ash. I will say, the one's I just burned I bought in 2010. Some maybe they've gotten better?

I tried a couple bags last year from a friend. They were pretty good. I bought a ton this year to use for when it's super cold out.
I had to increase the air flow on my insert slightly, otherwise I would have some ash build up around the burn pot. They've been burning pretty well.

oh. And never listen to what the guys say at Lowe's or HD - the guy giving you pellet opinions is the same guy that works in Lawn & Garden, and Flooring, and checkout, and Electrical...

I have never tried Barefoots but I was completely disappointed with Cubex when I tried them last year. As it was my first year with pellets I tried just about every kind that I crossed paths with (still do, come to think of it). I know that folks here rave about Cubex but at $7 a bag from the local dealer I just did not think they were any better than the $4 a bag Green Supreme at HD. Maybe they burned a bit hotter if accurately measured, but I couldn't tell the difference on my 'back of the hand' meter.
Cubex is not a bad pellet, but it is also not what it used to be. Cubex is owned by Lauzon Inc., out of Quebec. They are a hardwood floor manufacturer and years ago made pellets strictly out of their own flooring sawdust. As a result, they were great pellets and they charged a premium for them. Somewhere, several years ago, with the increase in demand for pellets, they started to buy outside sawdust and blend it in with their own in an effort to increase production. Still a good pellet, but not what it was, and they still charge a premium for it. Why not?....it has a great reputation from several years back.
