Great idea! Wish I'd thought of it! We use fairly heavy plates, and if we don't preheat them, they suck the heat right out of the food. The wrapped bricks are an excellent idea, too.
 
Well what did you eat Don
In February I put a can of Boston baked beans on my stove when it was cranking. Took about 40 minutes to get the whole can nice and hot. My wife rolled her eyes at me and laughed
 
I got a phone call once right after I fixed my plate and set it on the P68. 15 minutes later perfect.
