I can't figure it out why on the far side of the burner the flames are so different. It's like the wind is blowing from that side. I put a restrictor of 1.5" over the vent pipe. Should I increase or decrease the restrictor size over the vent pipe? Or is the burner problem? The gas pressure I know is only at minimum 5.5" W.C. Thanks

Adding restriction to the incoming air is what you need. If restricting the exhaust slows the intake, you should be good to go. Let us know how you make out.
