Do I have a gasket issue?

So, I just ran the very first 3 bags ever through our new Enviro Empress FPI. I am burning Stove Chow, so I expected quite a bit of ash, but I was surprised to see ash that made its way through the door seal. Is this normal, or do I have a bad gasket?

I'm no expert but the gasket looks fine and to me it seems you had some build up that fell down when you opened the door......maybe?

That ash had to have come from when you opened the door. A gap big enough in the gasket to allow ash to escape like that would have resulted in a very dirty sooty burn. Your ash looks good, you've got nice complete combustion going on there. Congrats on your new stove.
