Feeling the Heat

When it's warmer, our little dog sleeps at the foot of our bed. When he gets cold, he sneaks up and gets in between the two of us. If it's really cold, he plops down against my wife or me and establishes as much body contact as he can manage. Every night since we got the pellet stove, he's been sleeping at the foot of the bed, all stretched out. It's good to be warm on these cold nights!

My dog indicator ( the labs) go outside 10 timesa day because there hot. They also lay on the cold tile floor when the stove is on and not the couch anymore lol. They cant wait till the central air comes back on

To warm indicator, aka door cozy

Our Shepherd alternates between hearth and other spots but he loves being outside in -::F weather so. . . . .

The cat indicators are almost always stove-centric except when it's really cranking.

Bio,
That's right where you want that warm fur ball when the temps drop. I usually push the door rugs up tight. You have a great BTU blocker there. Now you need one for each door but that heat will cost you substantially more in food.;)

We have an 11yr old jack Russell. He's a snuggler most days, but when the stove is on he spends a lot of time on the basement couch. About 15' from the stove.

Must be nice to see him sleeping at the foot of your bed. I always know if its really cold when I wake up by the amount of cats along with the dog on the bed. Really cold: all cats, and the dog. Medium cold: eldest cat and the dog. -10 and above outside: only the elderly dog and of course my husband who sleeps like a log.

If my lab could, he'd sleep outside, but the wife won't let him. By the door like most, on my boots

Awe, such a cutie. Reminds me of a Lab/Samoyed mix that I had. He had the nice thick undercoat of the Sammy, but looked like a Lab during summer. He loved being outside in the cold, as long as Mom was out there with him. He was a Momma's dog and even got really anxious if I closed the door to the bathroom without him in there with me (unless, of course, it was bath time for him - LOL)

Wow, the photos are all great. I wasn't going to post a shot of our little brat, but here he is one night when he thought maybe I wasn't coming to bed soon. My son insists on tucking him in to make sure he's cozy.[Hearth.com] Dog indicator = warm

My toy poodle sleeps on the living room sofa and my cat is a heat hog, she lays right next to the pellet stove in my family room.

My pug camps out in front of the pellet stove, heats himself to insane temperatures, to the point where we worry that he might spontaneously combust! at night, the smokin hot dog then runs into our bed and under the covers. As the dog cools, it really makes the bed nice and warm. I dont know if he just likes it or hes doing it on purpose so he can warm us up. I hope hes not cooking himself in a selfless attempt to make us more comfortable!
