Helped my neighbor over the summer with his drolet insert install, really happy how it came out.

He removed clays, bottom ones he used a sledge hammer taped to a broom handle!

Prefitted liner so we could mock up blockoff.

Block off plate installed, made an oval hole so we could attach liner far back then pull into place. Siliconed 2 pieces of sheet metal in place to cover ovel hole.

very nice work!!!

Yes great work i am really impressed you got all the tiles out with just a sledge taped to a broom handle. Nice job

Thanks guys! All but the last bottom clays were loose sitting on top of each other, was the same for my house. It was a little tuff knocking out those bottoms though, its a work out!
Another burning in pic he sent me this morn,

Beauty! Awesome job. Very similar job to mine a couple of seasons ago, with far superior execution. Wish you were my neighbor.

How'd you bend that sheet metal for the block-off plate so nice?

Thankyou! I have a pair of metal bending pliers with jaws from 3.5-10" wide

Very well done. Your neighbor is lucky to have you as a friend.

Thanks again!
Being a memeber here has helped on the 4 installs ive done so far :)

Outstanding work! You reminded me that I need to fab up an actual block-off plate. Your's will do well to make sure the heat stays in the house.

What is going to happen with the power cord for the blower. I was lucky enough to have an outlet on the right (left!) side. Still want to hide it away better.

There's another hole on right side of blower, very easy to move. I think it will reach the outlet on the right wall, we'll hide it some how!
