Drolet eco 45 "P" code

Hello guys !

Just got a problem with my Drolet eco 45.

It was running perfectly when I shut it down for weekly cleaning. After cleaning I try to start it burning again and it won't start. It gives me "P" code. I went to the manual and did check for answer. I blew in the pressure hose but it did not solve the problems.

Also when it is off and I press Mode to turn it on, I hear a little buzz for like 3-4 secondes (it seems it's coming from the right side) and then the stove give me P code. I don'T know what happens since it was working perfectly before a routine clean up. Did not touch any major components, just a ash removing and pot cleaning.

Any idea ?

From the Maintenance section: Note the section on cleaning outlet behind the decorative masonry-like panels if you haven't already done this.
Chamber walls: Periodically, you must vacuum the
ashes that may have accumulated on the main walls of the combustion chamber. START BY REMOVING THE DECORATIVE MASONRY-LIKE PANELS, WHICH ARE SIMPLY HELD BY SCREWS. Scrape off ashes. Use a vacuum is necessary. There is also a cleaning outlet located behind the left side panel of the combustion chamber. Remove this panel using a screw driver. You will notice a small rectangular cleaning outlet. Inspect behind this outlet (see figure 22) Insert the vacuum tip through the cleaning outlet and clean thoroughly. REPEAT THIS OPERATION AT LEAST ONCE PER TON OF PELLETS BURNED UNTILYOU ARE FAMILIAR WITH HOW ASHES ACCUMULATE WITH YOUR OPERATING PRACTICES.

I attach a hose to the adaptor of my shop vac (drywall filter bag when stove is cold) to get farther in and multiple directions... clean your exhaust venting too. Ash collects in the internal exhaust chambers and can cause vacuum problems...

Just did the full cleaning of the stove, still not working. Seems like the fan under the stove is trying to start but won't. I can hear a little buzz sound during 3-4 secs then it stops and gives me P error code.

When you did the cleaning, could some debris maybe have gotten into the combustion fan and is preventing it from turning?

Do you have this troubleshooting guide? Check pages 11+12 and try to reset. Hope this helps.

Already did what's on page 11 and 12. Did not change. I don't think some debris got into the fan, since I just remove the ashes in the combustion chamber.

How long have you had the stove? Still on warranty? If it is, contact the dealer. Use surge protection? Do you have an OAK (outside air kit)?

Did you open the service plate and vacuum near the exhaust blower? Is it possible that the blades where hit or damaged? I would open this again and gently turn fan to ensure there are no problems with binding there.... Is the plate gasket in good condition and the plate is reattached securely? Did you check to ensure no wires were dislodged during cleaning?

Before you replaced the vacuum tube, did you vacuum the inlet on the vacuum sensor (not full suction of the vacuum - just enough to ensure no ash there). When you replaced the vacuum hose, did you reattach to the white connection? Did you ensure electrical connections were still intact?

Did you do a reset on the control board before trying to start again? I think I would leave stove sides off so you get a better understanding of where the noise is coming from...

I would open this again and gently turn fan to ensure there are no problems with binding there.... Did it, they turn with no resistance

I called SBI they told me the combustion fan was probably broken. But I have hard time believing that since it did work before I stopped it for cleaning. I want to make sure it's borken since it's a 300$ piece.

I got the stove second hand because I bought a house and it was already in it. So no warranty.

Sounds like its time to check the combustion blower with a patch cord made from an old lamp cord. You might have to make that yourself to match the disconnect to the combustion fan. After that plug in just the fan and see if it works or not. That should tell you if the motor is good or not.

Hello everyone, problem solved. Seems like the sounds I was hearing was the motor of the combustion fan trying to start the fan but they were to dirty/clogged. So i put some spray lube (PL-100) on the two side of the motor shaft near the propelor and the fan was now much easier to spin. I try to start it and it start like a new one.

Pretty happy not to have to buy another combex fan (300$)
