Does anyone know if the Drolet insert model 1400-I can be installed in such a way as to draw combustion air directly from the outside?

Here's a link for the insert: (broken link removed)

Here's a link for an article explaining why I want to draw combustion air from the outside: (broken link removed)

Thanks to all in advance,
David

Even if it cannot be directly hooked up to outside air (which I think it can), you could install a "Passive air supply".

Here's a better article on outdoor air supplies:

I read the article on woodheat.org but I don't think it addresses the main concern presented on chimneysweeponline.com which is, that using air from inside the home for combustion is inefficient since it inevitably pulls large volumes of cold outside air into the living spaces, There's a rebuttal to the woodheat.org article (broken link removed to http://www.chimneysweeponline.com/hooa3.htm) on chimneysweeponline.com as well.

I think the article on chimneysweep.com, as well as his answers to the woodheat.org article both have merit.
