Does anyone use an Ecofan? Do they work well or is it just a gimmick? Are they as quiet as advertised? Anyone know of a reputable place to get one online?
That's pretty much my take on 'em, but then my stove has a blower kit, so I need nothing beyond that. I think Be Green has, or has had in the past, one of these gizmos and as I recall he had good things to say about it. Rick
Neat gimmicks. I think there are better bang for the buck fans out there. Sometimes it's fun to spend the money we work hard for on fun things. If you think yo'll enjoy fiddling with it, go for it.
Running almost silently on the stove now. Going on it's 6th or 7th season? I've lost track. I use it as much as a remote visual temp gauge as a means to gently nudge heat to the kitchen. We're happy with it, but didn't have unrealistic expectations.
For moving more heat, it's better to blow the air from the colder space towards the stove which is contrary to having a fan on the stove.
