I have the opportunity to buy a 2009 25pdvc-55shp10. I was wondering what every one paid new for theirs, or bought for used. And what problems they have had. I can tell they didn't maintain the stove very well. Hadn't been burned in at least 6 years. Augers still work, draft fan still works. Afraid to fire it up, not know what was in exhaust pipe. I have a kind 5500 now, and just looking for a backup in the basement. Any feedback would be great

Lack of maintenance would really make me want to pass on it. It would have to be very cheap to even consider.

They seem to go for $300-$400 around here on Craigslist, usually in the condition you describe. If it were me, I'd clean it out well outside and the test fire it, again, outside. I think I'd want to see it plugged in and test run, to the extent that it could, at the sellers place to confirm that the augers and blowers worked.

Augers and draft fan worked. I threw in empty cig box, and it didn't smoke or nothing. But never got hot enough to run room fan. Who knows how the sensors are gonna work. I didn't trust that the excavation vent was clean to really get it hot. But I'm gonna have to. 200....I'd jump all over it, but I only got him down to 275......... it's a backup, but I don't want a backup peice of crap
