G'day...

Thought I might ask before I dig in. I'd like to remove the combustion blower/motor for a cleaning. Can I just remove it from the snail/housing rather than removing the complete assy or must the complete assy be removed and exhaust disconnected. Thought I'd give it a good clean and lube as it's never been done in 6 years. Convection done last month....Thanks.

No, you can just remove the motor without removing the assembly. That said, you need to be VERY careful or have a spare gasket on hand before you do it as you'll in all likelihood destroy the one that is on there.

Done...couldn't remove the impeller from the motor shaft ( tried penetrating oil, but didn't want to budge) so I just cleaned it the best I could and reinstalled with high temp RTV...all seems fine. It was a little crusty but not too bad.

This motor has sealed bearings and NO oiling ports unlike the convection motor.

I put a drop of oil on thoes bearings every couple weeks it's a open case so with zoom spout oil you can get the oil right in there.. Call me crazy but I oil the 2 auger motors and combustion blower ever two weeks or so.. Keeps her nice and quiet
