so recently my englander seems to burning all types of pellets super HOT, usually turned on 1:1 itll still get the house to about 80 when its 20 outside. and the pellets pile up into a big solid brick, iv always had that problem. i just have to break it up often. i know more blower, iv plqyed with the air with similar results. im new to pellet stoves so just unsure if this is how they are? seems like i dont have any control anymore. iv tried 80/20 mix all hardwood, all softwood. and same results all around. i like green team, inferno, and maines choice is REALLY hot burning. maybe something broken with the ECU? its roughly 6 year old stove and i clean it pretty much everyday cause thats just me.

It sounds to me that you have a possible air obstruction which could be caused by a few things...
1. How detailed of a cleaning are you doing? Are you getting into the heat exchanger behind the baffle plate? Are you banging on the back of the stove to loosen all the nooks and crannies? Have you tried the leaf blower trick?
2. How about your gaskets.. Glass window, door, hopper and burn pot?
3. Do you have an Outside Air Kit?
4. Have you tried a board reset or checked your heat mode?
5. Where's the stove located and how is it vented?
There's a few for starters!!
yes i clean everywheres take the plate out. i know it does need a gasket change, but nothing that is that bad just prob should be done. cleaning wise iv take burn pot comoletely out once and banged all the ash buildup out of the inside of airflow in the pot itself, replaced that gasket. cleaned it in and out. it only piles up when i cant break it up during the night. its seems like it just keepa feeding the same amount of pellets all the timem how do you reset the board? it has had startup errors before but as i said one thing i know is its clean as a whistle in and out! it was professionaly installed my house is 5 years old, my scond winter here and seems its always been this way, but somethings not working right!

Where is the stove located inside the house?
Your bottom 3 buttons when pressed starting from left to right should read 6-4-1. If not make the change!
DO YOU HAVE A FRESH AIR KIT (oak)?
Here's the instructions to verify your burn mode.. Unplug the power supply from the wall and plug it back in and within 4 - 5 seconds you need to press both the up-and-down blower buttons at the same time and in the window to the left you will see either A, B, C or D mode in the heat range digital display if you see anything other than D then use the up and down buttons to change it to the proper mode which is D.
It sounds to me that you have an air leak issue and my bet is: window gasket, door gasket and then I'd move towards the hopper lid. Here's a way to check for air leaks, but it doesn't always yield proper results (believe me I know firsthand) With the unit on take a flame from a lighter and go around the gaskets. If you see the flame get pulled in towards the inside of the stove that's a problem.
Just because it was professionally installed doesn't mean it was proper! How is the stove vented? Straight out? Straight out then vertically?
so far the 6-4-1 is night and day difference. its not feeding nearly as it was. MUCH better so far so good. all gaskets are good, the exhaust goes straight out and up. the air the same. whats the fresh air kit consist of? ill take pictures and post. this unit was installed here when i bought my home this past year. i love it! i never knew the adjustments worked that way so. thank yiu very much! the consumption was good considering it was probably burning horribly inefficently. stove is in the very center of the home( ranch with catherderal ceilings. one problem i am having it gives false reading to my furnace since the whole house downstairs is all on one thermostat. any ideas? probably have to have the thermo moved to a cooler area. thanks! -brian
also i thought about putting some vents thriugh the rooms top of the wall to help spread the heat of stove.

Glad you're seeing a better burn. Moving your thermostat is a smart move and you could also add another zone. You can move the thermostat yourself, but adding a zone may be tricky. I'm confused do you have an air intake because it looks like your comment says yes.

yea i do have the air.from outdoors. seems like the issue has been resolved! burning great, i usualy burn 3 different brands so now i can play with the fine tuning. i honestly thought those 3 buttons were non alterable. glad i found this board! thanks again. ill let you know if a day or two how it works out! thank you very much again. one more question i promise! haha are you familiar with the outdoor furnaces and if so what are your thoughts on the pellet furnaces?

hahha no problem! youve been much help. im curious on the pellet furnaces. seeing i have a very large hot tub that could be heated by it and the baseboards. getting rid of number 2 oil is my goal! thanks again happy holiday! - Brian
