Englander 25-PDVC install

Hello fellow pellet freaks!
It's been quite some time since I've posted anything, mostly due to the fact that my EP-25 has been running flawlessly!
Anyway, I bought a 2007 25-PDVC on Christmas eve 2014 for $100. I found it on craigslist. The seller didn't know what was wrong with it. After some help on these forums and some careful diagnostic work I determined the circuit board was the issue. The seller had replaced both auger motors so I scored big there.
After the new circuit board and all of the piping I'm into the stove for less than $900
I put the stove in my basement to make it more comfortable while reloading ammunition and while the finance manager does laundry. ( I ALSO help with the laundry)
I used all 4 inch duravent pipe and used 4 inch aluminum dryer duct for my OAK. I was able to find an adapter that needed slight modification to step down to the 1 7/8" factory OAK connection.
I finally fired it up today. I put it in mode "C" and I must say, this stove is pretty sweet! I kind of like it better than my EP!
Once again I'm extremely happy with the product that Englander puts out. I'll post some pics in the coming hours. It's a pin in the neck to upload my photos.

Great score on the stove. Did you get the old motors with the stove too? They would be great spare motors for breakdowns.

I wasn't able to get the old motors, but the parts ship really fast, and it's a stove that won't be used constantly.
And I do consider getting my clothes dirty "helping", however I still try to help cleaning the laundry too!

After having this stove running for awhile, it's quite clear that it burns hotter than the sun!
Heat setting 2, blower 2. Board settings 6,4,1 in mode "D" Temps reaching 300 degrees at the room blower outlet, just above the door.
Is this normal?
My 25 EP struggles to maintain 200 degrees with the same pellet.
I'm beginning to wonder if exhaust size has something to do with this. My 25 EP has 3" with an EVL of 15 feet and 1 1/2" oak.
The 25 pdvc has 4" pipe with an unknown EVL and a 4" oak.
Any thoughts?

My pdvc can achieve those kinds of temps but not on a setting of 2. i usually have the blower on 9 regardless of the feed rate. so i'd be on 2-9 or 4-9 etc. Maybe its getting too much fuel? There should be a restrictor plate inside the hopper. I keep mine about 50% shut. Im thinking the blower on 2 here is a bit low, especially if its got some dust in it. trying 2-9, and take the temp after an hour.

I'll have a look in the morning. I'll also take the room air blower to max for a while and see where the temps stabilize.

I saw this post. Thank you for reposting it. As of right now I have no structural issues with my stove. I also kept the factory settings. Another member reminded me of the restrictor plate in the pellet hopper. I'll be checking that in the morning.

not exactly sure on the year they added the fuel gate to the hopper but I don't think a 2007 will have it, The 2005 I had did not and I'm pretty sure it was several years after that they added it.

Believe it or not, I specifically remember the fuel gate in this stove. I'll be adjusting it shortly and I'll post the results.

I would say yes it is possible. Especially with the blower on setting 2. Will depend greatly on the pellets and more importantly the length of them. If they are short they will be feeding like crazy with the lff on 6.

I just went thru this with a pellet i bought to try out.. it was equivelent to filling the hopper with corn for size. Causing the augers to be filled constantly. I had to run heat setting 2 with lff on 2 in order to slow the feed enough. And that was at a 1 degree outside temp overnite. Usually i been running heat 5 with my better pellets.

This is one major downfall of these stoves. My next stove will be a single auger so i can control the feed to compinsate for the pellets better.
