Englander 30 door gasket replacement

Hey everybody,
Happy holidays, hopefully everyone is enjoying them. I have a question: I have an Eglander 30 that is approxiamately 3 years old. Lately I have been having runaway issues. I lit a match and watched the smoke being sucked in by the bottom of the door. I am assuming this is simply an issue that can be cured with a replacement gasket. My question: I need to do this ASAP and do not want to wait for the shipping from Englander. I want to head out today and buy a replacement from Tractor Supply. What are the diameters I am looking for and total length? Will I be able to find an adequate replacement? Being that I use the stove as my only heat source for the house and it is currently in the 20s, time is of the essence.

Also, my door handle snugs down at the 5 or 5:30 position, is that too loose?

Door handle fine. Door gasket is at least 5/8" or 3/4" diameter. Can't remember as I just replaced mine a couple months back. A small diameter wire brush ( 2"-3") chucked up in a electric drill makes short work of cleaning the gasket channel adhesive out. Adhesive is hi temp silicone gasket type stuff- get from Automotive section. Measure the outside distance around door and that will be enought + a bit. Englander says to wait 24 hours before refiring stove to let adhesive cure. also after installing new gasket close door tightly for the 24 hr cure time. It is possible that your hinges are worn some not the pins themselves. You could try switching the pins around to see if that tighten things up a bit. I made a new set for mine as they were getting sloppy.

I went to hardware store and found some 5/8 (ESW confirmed the size) Meeco replacement gasket, but not sure it is the right density. I have read that some of the stuff is not the right density. Is there a re particular brand or spec that others have had luck with?

A tip would be to do the dollar test first to see where the fit is good and loose and make note. The gaskets are woven and will fatten when pushed together and thin when pulled tight, so custom fitment can be applied to YOUR stove. Hope this helps
